Jaunty Goat

There are two locations, go to the one on Northgate street for the 100% plant-based menu. Jaunty Goat is my favourite cafe in Chester.

The menu changes season after season but you can always find the good old vegan classics: full English breakfast, fancy avo toast, pancakes… They also make really good coffee with several plant milk option.

I haven’t tried everything yet but I can recommend the pancakes as well as the avo toast, which is always so nicely presented and smashed on delicious warm bread.

Price wise it’s also very reasonable. You can get a coffee and a dish for less than £10.

Flower Cup

Flower Cup isn’t fully plant-based but they have a nice selection of sweet and savoury vegan breakfast items. I had the pancakes there which were delicious, but next time I’d love to try the vegan French toast.

If you love plants, you will find that this spot is the cutest in town.

Reasonable price range as well, I paid around £10 for a soya flat white and pancakes.

Panna Coffee

Panna Coffee is another well-known coffee shop in the town centre. They do have a couple vegan items on the menu, including the classic avo on toast and granola. I wish they had a vegan version of their waffles!

It’s a nice spot if you’re with a mixed group of vegan/veggie/non vegans but if you’re on your own, I’d recommend going to one of the places I mentioned above.

Crepe Affaire

You might have heard of Crepe Affaire before as there are several locations across the UK. They have a lovely selection of sweet and savoury vegan crepes.

I never had brunch there but I ordered many takeaways, pretty much always going for the Supervegan: Tomato, spinach, mushroom and vegan cheese in a buckwheat galette.
