My honest review of Allplants

When I first went on the website, I was pleasantly surprised with the huge amount of choice and it took me a little while to select the meals I wanted to try. I found a decent discount online which brought the total down to £35 for 7 meals.

Once delivered, I found the meals perfectly frozen inside the box. There was one small issue with one of the meals, with the protective film being ripped. I went on the customer service live chat and immediately got a refund for this meal.

My freezer was already pretty stocked up and I underestimated how much space these meals would take. I would recommend keeping that in mind when you’re ordering!

Look and taste

I personally found that most recipes don’t look particularly appealing, but this doesn’t mean that they taste bad! I actually enjoyed most of them, my favourites being the veggie lasagna, protein bolognese bowl and falafel mezze. The only recipe I tried and didn’t really enjoy was the spinach & nut lasagne.

Convenience

On a busy day or when you don’t feel like cooking (which is most days for me), it’s really handy to grab a meal from the freezer and pop it in the microwave for 8 minutes.

However some Allplants meals (such as the lasagne options) can only be heated in the oven, and they take up to 40 minutes. Just something to think about if you’re mainly ordering for quick, ready meals.

Portion size

If you’re a very active person, the portion size will most likely not be enough for a full meal and you’ll need to top up with a side of veggies as well as fruit, yoghurt etc.

Would I buy Allplants meals again?

Yes I will in the future. Most meals are nicer than what I’d cook myself and are a convenient solution. It’s definitely a great help if you’re looking to eat more plant-based but don’t have much cooking inspiration or time.

However le't’s be honest, it is not cheap. Discounts are available so I’ll definitely use one when I want to place another order!
