HighPark Berlin am Potsdamer Platz review *unsponsored*
I recently stayed spent a few days in Berlin for the half marathon taking place in the city. I stayed at HighPark Berlin am Potsdamer Platz and here’s my honest, unsponsored review of this accommodation.
About HighPark Berlin am Potsdamer Platz
HighPark Berlin am Potsdamer Platz is a modern serviced apartment complex located at Gabriele-Tergit-Promenade 21 in central Berlin. Situated near Potsdamer Platz, it offers convenient access to key sights such as the Brandenburg Gate, Holocaust Memorial, and Mall of Berlin, all within walking distance .
Blending the independence of a private apartment with the comforts of a boutique hotel stay, each unit is equipped with a kitchen, washing machine, dishwasher, Smart TV and high-speed internet. Additional amenities include Rituals toiletries, coffee and tea as well as daily housekeeping.
It’s also right by the Mendelssohn-Bartholdy-Park U-Bahn station, providing easy transportation throughout the city.
How much does it cost?
It depends on the season and what’s going on in Berlin at the time of your stay. I paid € 896 / £769 for 5 nights (Wed-Mon) in a one bedroom flat with balcony during the Berlin Half Marathon weekend, which would have driven the price up.
High Park Berlin honest review
The highlights
What I really appreciated about my stay at HighPark was how well thought-out and functional the apartment was. It had everything I needed, with a layout that made great use of the space.
There was so much natural light during the day, and despite being in central Berlin, the area was pleasantly quiet. The apartment was clean, spacious, and had more than enough storage - including a closet by the entrance and another big one in the bedroom with space to hang clothes, which made settling in really easy.
The bed was really comfortable, and I slept so well every night, which was unusual for me. The shower was great - good pressure - and it was a nice touch to have Rituals products provided. There were even bathrobes and slippers, like in a hotel.
One of the standout features for me was the daily housekeeping service. That’s something you rarely get with a flat stay, and I found it really helpful. They even replaced the dishwasher and washing machine tablets daily, which was one of the small details that made a big difference.
It was lovely to have a balcony, and I would have enjoyed it more if the weather had been warmer.
The building itself also ticked all the right boxes. The location is ideal, especially for runners here for the half in April or the marathon in September - it's an easy jog to the Platz der Republik, which is where runners must enter the start area from.
Getting around to sightsee was a breeze, with excellent public transport links just steps away.
Just downstairs there's a handy organic shop with fresh products, snacks, juices and baked goods, open every day from 7am to 10pm. There’s also a coffee shop right next door.
Any dislikes?
If I had to mention any downsides - and I’m really being nitpicky here - there were just a few small things missing from the kitchen setup. I would have liked to have kitchen scissors and a strainer on hand, and I was a bit surprised there wasn’t a toaster. Nothing major, but small conveniences that would have made the space feel even more complete.
One other thing was the lack of a washing hanger. I try to avoid tumble drying my workout clothes, so not having a place to air-dry them was a bit inconvenient. There was an ironing board stored in the bedroom closet, and there seemed to be enough room in there to also keep a foldable drying rack - it would be a really helpful addition.
That said, none of these things were dealbreakers at all, and they definitely wouldn’t stop me from staying again. Overall, the experience was overwhelmingly positive, I had a very comfortable and enjoyable stay!
