Sheraton Jumeirah Beach Resort: Unsponsored Review

Since moving to Dubai, I’ve been treating myself to staycations in different parts of the city, and I thought it was about time I started sharing my honest, unsponsored reviews of the hotels I visit.

I recently spent one night at Sheraton Jumeirah Beach Resort, staying in a Deluxe JBR View Room. Located right on Jumeirah Beach Residence (JBR), it's one of Dubai's long-established beachfront hotels, with direct access to the beach and just a few minutes' walk from The Walk's restaurants, cafés and shops.

As always, this review is based entirely on my own experience and only covers the facilities I personally used.

What makes Sheraton Jumeirah Beach Resort stand out?

Without a doubt, the biggest selling point of Sheraton Jumeirah Beach Resort is its location. You can walk straight onto JBR Beach, and you're also within easy walking distance of countless restaurants, coffee shops and stores along The Walk.

Dubai Marina is only a short stroll away too, making this a great base whether you're visiting Dubai or planning a staycation. If you're a runner like me, you'll also appreciate having the Marina on your doorstep. It's one of the best places to run in Dubai, whether it's an easy morning jog or an interval session.

The hotel also has several restaurants, a gym, a spa, a few shops and a kids' club. I didn't use any of these during my stay, so I won't be commenting on them.

Deluxe JBR View Room

The room itself was spacious and had everything you'd expect for a comfortable stay. There was a minibar, coffee machine, kettle, iron and ironing board, full-length mirror, large TV, bathrobes and slippers, along with plenty of wardrobe space. Bottles of water were complimentary.

One small thing I noticed was the lack of a notepad. It's hardly a dealbreaker, but as someone who often works while travelling, it's something I always find useful.

The bathroom was well stocked with complimentary toiletries, including a dental kit. There was also a scale, which isn't something every hotel provides.

The only issue I had in the bathroom was with the rainfall shower. It wasn't working properly, with water only coming through part of the shower head, so it wasn't quite as enjoyable as it could have been.

The balcony was probably my least favourite part of the room. Although it overlooks JBR, it's fairly small and the seating isn't particularly inviting, so it's not somewhere I'd choose to sit with a coffee or spend much time.

One thing worth mentioning if you're planning to work from your room: the power outlet beside the table wasn't compatible with a standard plug. It seemed to only fit the lamp's plug, so I couldn't charge my laptop while working there, which was a little frustrating.

Thankfully, I found a much better alternative downstairs. The lounge area has comfortable sofas, plenty of cushions and accessible plug sockets, making it a really pleasant place to work for a few hours. My only criticism is that the café has quite a limited selection of pastries and snacks if you're planning to stay there for a while.

How much does a night at Sheraton Jumeirah Beach Resort cost?

In July 2026, I paid AED 425.47 for one night in a Deluxe JBR View Room with breakfast included. That's roughly £86 or $116, which I think represents good value considering the beachfront location.

Is breakfast at Sheraton Jumeirah Beach Resort worth it?

I thought breakfast was one of the highlights of my stay.

It's a generous buffet with a good mix of sweet and savoury options, including mini pastries, freshly made pancakes and waffles, chia pudding, bircher muesli, fresh bread, cheeses, charcuterie, fruit and a selection of Middle Eastern dishes.

There's also a made-to-order egg station, so you can have your eggs cooked exactly how you like them.

Coffee comes from self-service coffee machines, but if you prefer a speciality coffee or plant-based milk, just ask a member of staff. I ordered an almond milk cappuccino without any problem or extra charges.

The only thing I felt was missing was Greek yogurt. I've noticed it's surprisingly uncommon at hotel breakfast buffets in Dubai, but it would have been a welcome addition.

Sheraton Jumeirah Beach Resort pool and private beach

The pool area was perfectly nice, but if I'm comparing it with other Dubai beach hotels I've stayed at, it wasn't one of my favourites. The front row of sunbeds sits very close to the pool, so it can feel a little cramped when people are constantly walking past.

There are sunbeds further back on a fake grass area, which is quieter but doesn’t quite give the 5 star resort vibe.

If you fancy something a bit more private, the white cabanas look lovely, although they come at an extra cost of AED 250 for hotel guests on weekdays and AED 350 at weekends.

The private beach, on the other hand, was a real highlight. JBR Beach is beautiful, with soft sand, clear water and views towards Ain Dubai. There are plenty of complimentary sunbeds and umbrellas available for hotel guests.

One thing to remember is to collect your towels from the pool before heading down to the beach. When I visited first thing in the morning, there wasn't a towel station open on the beach itself.

Final thoughts

Sheraton Jumeirah Beach Resort may not be the newest or most luxurious beachfront hotel in Dubai, but its location is hard to beat. Being able to walk straight onto JBR Beach while having The Walk and Dubai Marina just minutes away is a huge advantage.

The room was comfortable, breakfast exceeded my expectations, and having access to a private beach made for a really relaxing staycation. There were a few things that could be improved and the pool area didn't quite wow me, but none of them were enough to spoil my short stay. Every member of staff I interacted with was also very kind and willing to help should I need anything.

Overall, I think Sheraton Jumeirah Beach Resort is a great option if you're looking for a well-located beachfront hotel without paying the premium prices of some of Dubai's newer luxury resorts.
