Solutions for Runners’ Most Annoying Problems (Chafing, Blisters and More)
Chafing Prevention
Chafing can be one of the most painful and distracting issues for runners, particularly on long runs or in hot weather. Prevention starts with the right combination of protection and proper gear.
I recently added Bodyglide Anti-Chafe Balm to my routine, it’s something I should have started using a long time ago!
This handy stick creates a protective barrier on your skin, helping to prevent irritation and painful rubbing on areas such as thighs, underarms and around sports bras. It is sweat-resistant, easy to apply and lasts through even the longest training sessions.
I also swear by Runderwear undies, which are specifically designed for runners. These seamless, moisture-wicking undies offer superior comfort, reducing friction and keeping you chafe-free.

Blister Protection
Blisters can derail your training quickly, but prevention is easier than you might think.
It starts with socks that are specifically designed for running, such as Versus Socks.
These technical socks offer a snug fit, moisture-wicking properties and padding exactly where it’s needed most to reduce friction. Along with the plain and timeless designs, you’ll also find some colourful, funky prints to brighten your running outfits.
When socks are not enough, Bodyglide Anti Blister Balm comes to the rescue. It works by reducing rubbing on toes, heels and other hot spots prone to blistering.
And if despite your best efforts, a blister appears, stick a Compeed on it as soon as possible. The hydrocolloid plaster will cushion the blister and help it heal while protecting it from further rubbing.
Sweat and Moisture Management
Sweat is inevitable, but you can stay comfortable with the right gear.
The SAYSKY Flow collection offers high-performance running apparel that excels at moisture management. The lightweight, breathable fabrics wick sweat away from your skin to keep you dry and cool during intense runs.
For extra sweat control, add a sweatband to your kit. A good sweatband keeps perspiration out of your eyes and enhances comfort, particularly during hot-weather training or races.

Sunburn and Skin Protection
Outdoor runners face the constant risk of sunburn, no matter the season. Protecting your skin should always be part of your running routine.
I especially like using Pelotan SPF which is designed specifically for athletes. This sweatproof, non-greasy sunscreen provides long-lasting protection even during sweaty workouts. I find the roll-on especially handy to quickly apply on the body before heading out.

Another favourite of mine is UltraSun Very High SPF 50 Sports Spray Formula, which is a great option for sensitive skin.

Post-Run Skin Relief
Even with the best precautions, sometimes your skin needs relief after a tough session.
I absolutely love the Styrkr Cooling Gel, especially in the Summer. It delivers an immediate cooling sensation which feels amazing after a long run.
I’ve even been using it before races in hot weather to try and keep cool when I’m already overheating during the warm up.
