Botanique Paris RevitalEyes™ Under-Eye Red Light Therapy device: my honest review

I was influenced by social media ads, and bought the RevitalEyes™ Under-Eye Red Light Therapy device. Here’s my honest review and why I simply can’t recommend this product or company at all.

The RevitalEyes™ Under-Eye Red Light Therapy device

Sold by a comparny called Botanique Paris, this device is marketed as a solution for reducing dark circles, puffiness and fine lines around the eyes.

It uses 630nm red light therapy combined with microcurrent stimulation, aiming to enhance collagen production and improve blood circulation. The device features a built-in heat compress function and is designed to be lightweight and portable, making it suitable for use at home, in the office or while traveling.

Don’t be fooled by the company’s name. They are nowhere near Paris and their devices are certainly not shipped from Europe but from China, with very little tracking information available.

Customer feedback: a red flag?

Customer feedback on the product is mixed. Some users report noticeable improvements in the appearance of their under-eye area after consistent use.

Conversely, there are reports of dissatisfaction. A Reddit user expressed concerns about the company's refund policy, suggesting that the 30-day money-back guarantee might not be honoured. Additionally, some users have questioned the authenticity of the product, noting that it only emits a red light without any pulsation or vibration.

Not to mention several reports of lengthy delivery times as well as rude and unhelpful customer service, which I experienced myself.

There have also been allegations of deceptive marketing practices. A TikTok user accused the company of using her photos without consent and claimed that the brand's social media content is filled with fake material intended to mislead consumers.

RevitalEyes™ Under-Eye Red Light Therapy device: my review and experience

Why I fell for it

I’ve used the NuFace Mini device on and off and liked the effects - my skin felt tighter and more lifted, especially around the jaw and cheeks. But adding an extra 5 to 10 minutes to my skincare routine was hard to keep up with, and the device isn’t great for the under-eye area - it just wasn’t shaped right for that.

So when I came across the RevitalEyes device from Botanique Paris, it felt like the perfect solution. The idea that you could just pop it on like a pair of glasses and continue with your day was really appealing. No need to carve out extra time, no need to hold a device up to your face.

I also liked that it combine red light therapy with microcurrent technology. And then there were the ads - showing impressive before and after shots. I was sold.

It wasn’t an expensive risk either. When I bought it, it was on sale for just under £60 and I was really looking forward to testing it and was also anticipating to write a very positive review.

Delivery and customer service

I ordered the device on November 12th and didn’t receive it until the 26th. There was no mention of such a long delivery window on the website or in the confirmation email. If they had been upfront about it, I probably wouldn’t have cared that much, but the lack of transparency felt misleading.

The product was shipped from China and for ten days, the tracking didn’t update at all. I honestly thought the package had gone missing.

When I contacted customer service, I got a string of sassy and useless replies. Instead of helping, they sent back generic messages full of disclaimers.

One said, “We are not liable for deliveries that are affected by customs, natural occurrences, courier mistakes, strikes or delays, nor any extra fees, customs or back end charges incurred. There will be no refunds given for these circumstances.” Another stated, “We will not issue refunds to packages returned to the sender for any reason.”

So basically, if the package had been lost or returned, I’d have been stuck with nothing—and no refund.

Does RevitalEyes™ Under-Eye Red Light Therapy device actually work?

Once I finally received the device, I was curious and hopeful. I followed the instructions exactly and even used my NuFace Aqua Gel every time to optimise microcurrent conductivity. I really wanted to give it a fair shot. The hands-free concept is great in theory, but the design just doesn’t deliver.

The device doesn’t sit properly on my under-eye area, which is supposed to be the main target. Instead, it rests more on top of my cheekbones, completely missing the fine lines around the eyes. It’s simply not shaped to fit where it needs to go.

To make it worse, I have to press the device against my face to actually feel the vibrations, so it ends up not being hands-free at all. I also noticed that one side, specifically the right, pulses much more strongly than the other. I’ve seen reviews where people thought their device might be malfunctioning because of this, and I’m starting to wonder the same. After my frustrating experience with customer service about the delivery, I didn’t even bother reaching out again.

On top of all that, the battery life is disappointing. I have to charge it every other day, which means it only runs for about 20 minutes before needing charging. For a device that’s meant to be low-maintenance and convenient, that’s just ridiculous.

I wore the RevitalEyes device every single day for 10 minutes, for 12 weeks - longer than the timeframe they recommend to start seeing results. And honestly, I didn’t see a single improvement. Nothing changed. My under-eye area didn’t look tighter, smoother or more lifted. Not even temporarily after each session. With the NuFace Mini, I could actually see a difference in my jawline immediately after use, but with this? Absolutely nothing.

In summary, I bought the RevitalEyes™ Under-Eye Red Light Therapy device and I wish I hadn’t. It’s a gimmick and a waste of money.

If you’re considering ordering one for yourself, I would really encourage you to read the reviews and maybe consider more trustworthy alternatives.

I should have bought the NuFACE FIX Microwand, which is more expensive but would have been a better long-term investment.
