3 vegan spots to visit in Nice, France for vegan street food, Italian food and pastries

Looking for vegan food in Nice? I recently visited this beautiful city and here are my top 3 recommendations for those who love Italian food, street food and pastries.

3 must-visit vegan food spots in Nice

These places are 100% vegan.

For the best italian food: Utopia

Utopia is a restaurant located on 6 Rue Delille near the Modern Art Museum. It is open Weds to Sun in the evening only.

The menu puts a vegan spin on classic Italian dishes. My partner tried the carbonara pasta with smoked tofu and soya cream, surprising himself by loving it despite not being a tofu fan.

I opted for the gnocchi with roasted veggies and vegan cheese. The flavors were rich, and the gnocchi melted in my mouth, truly delightful.

Our cocktails were great, and the service was speedy. We're considering returning to Nice just for another dinner at this restaurant!

For a quick street food lunch: Not Dog

Not Dog is a vegan fast food restaurant on 18 Boulevard Jean Jaurès near the Old Town.

The menu features a range of vegan burgers, hot dogs and wraps along with desserts and shakes.

My partner ordered the bacon & cheese burger, and I chose the wrap with "chicken" nuggets and vegan cheese. We were both satisfied with our choices, but what I loved the most was the side of baked potatoes we shared.

They were flawlessly baked and seasoned, melting in the mouth, reminiscent of the ones my grandma used to make. If you visit this place, don't miss out on this amazing side dish!

For your sweet tooth: Amour Patisserie Vegetale

This place can be found on 2 Rue Foncet and is mostly known for its range of gluten-free and vegan pastries.

Clearly a popular spot, I visited midday and most items were already sold out. However, I managed to grab some treats to share with my partner: the "Snickers" cake, the "Coco Blue," and a chocolate chip cookie.

The Snickers cake was wonderfully creamy with a delightful balance of chocolate and nutty notes. The cookie was decent but a touch dry for my preference.

Personally, the highlight was the Coco Blue cake, with refreshing coconut and blueberry flavours in an airy mousse texture with a layer of jelly-like texture on top. It wasn’t cheap, but it was truly delicious.

Work up an appetite…
