The perfect Adidas running jacket for Winter! Adidas Women's Running gear review

The colder months are (already) here and it’s time to get ready for chilly, wet and windy runs. I desperately need a proper Winter running wardrobe and I’ve started to upgrade my kit with a bunch of pieces from Adidas Women.

This post is in collaboration with Adidas .

Adidas Women running gear review for Winter

Adidas Marathon Jacket

I luckily received this jacket right on time for the first rainy runs of the season. It’s super breathable but keeps you warm and dry at the same time with the water-repellent coating.

The jacket has enough secure pockets for you to fit everything you may need, from your keys to your phone and even a few gels.

Unlike other running jackets I previously tried, this one has a fitted hood so that it stays in place whilst you run.

Not to mention that this jacket is made with Primeblue, which is a high-performance recycled fabric partially made of Parley Ocean Plastic.

Finally, the reflective details come in handy if you run in the dark.

Edit: Unfortunately this jacket is now discontinued but you cam browse all the running jackets here

Own The Run 1/2 Zip Long-Sleeve Top

I really needed a high neck top for those slightly chilly, windy mornings when you just need one layer, but having your neck protected from the cold makes all the difference.

This top is made with Adidas’ signature AEROREADY fabric which is moisture-wicking and is also part of the Primegreen range, made with recycled materials.

It has a really nice slim fit but still gives you room to move and you can add another layer on top when it gets really cold.

It has reflective stripes that help you be seen when it’s dark and thumbholes. I know these are not everyone’s cup of tea but it’s quite nice to have the wrists and a part of your hands covered.

Own the Run 7/8 Running Leggings

If you’re short like me, these leggings will be full length, but great nonetheless. I don’t run without my phone, so a secure phone pocket is my main criteria when it comes to running leggings. The zipped pocket at the back holds my Iphone 8 perfectly and I don’t feel it bouncing around when I run.

This is another product made with Primegreen and featuring moisture-wicking AEROREADY to keep you dry.

The fabric feels super soft but not too stretchy and the stripes are reflective. Finally, these leggings are high-waisted with a drawcord on the elastic waistband, which I personally love.

RRP: £45 - For this price, it’s a really good pick! Fin

Don’t Rest Alphaskin Bra

A black sports bra that fits well is a true staple. This one offers medium support and I wear it for my runs or at the gym, but you can use it for all sorts of sports. It makes you feel supported and “locked in” but you won’t feel like your moves are restricted.

Just like the leggings, it features Adidas AEROREADY fabric and is made with 70% recycled fabric. It’s awesome to see that so many Adidas items are now made with Primegreen!

AEROREADY Level 3 T-shirt

It is meant to be a gym tee, but this type of lightweigtht top with mesh panels is my favourite to run in. It feels super breathable, perfect on its own on a warm day or under the Marathon jacket when it’s a bit cool outside.

It comes in two colourways, a bright coral and the light pink I decided to go for. Nothing like a pop of colour with black leggings.

And it’s another item made from recycled materials!

Edit: This top is now discontinued but you can browse more running tops here

Picking the right size

I am 5ft (154cm) and I’m a size UK 6-8. I wear XS in Adidas tops, jackets and bottoms. I usually wear S in bras.

I’d suggest checking the sizing tips on the Adidas product page as they will tell you if an item runs small and advise going a size up.

If you’re in need of Winter running gear, check out Adidas Women collection for running jackets, leggings and long-sleeve tops. It’s super easy to use the filters to narrow your selection down to the item, size and sport you’re looking for.

You can also get yourself a few pairs of these running socks which are made from recycled materials, designed to keep you dry and have definitely become my go-to for rainy runs!

Now I just need to get myself a neck warmer as well as a new pair of gloves and I won’t have any excuses to skip my runs this Winter!
