lelive review: skincare rooted in Africa’s diversity

I recently discovered lelive, a conscious skincare brand drawing inspiration from the natural resources and diversity of Africa. Find out more about lelive and my impressions of the products I put to the test.

lelive: conscious skincare rooted in Africa

lelive was founded in 2020 by Amanda du-Pont and her South African team with a clear vision: to create skincare that celebrates the rich diversity of Africa.

The brand name comes from Amanda’s Swazi name, “Langalelive,” meaning “light of the world,” and the brand carries that meaning into everything it does.

Each formula reflects the continent’s essence, from the powerful botanicals they choose to the inclusive approach they take, blending nature and innovation in a way that is both modern and deeply rooted.

Green rooibos, marula, moringa, shea butter and aloe form the natural core of their range which is made with 95% natural ingredients, paired with active ingredients like bakuchiol, hyaluronic acid, niacinamide, vitamin C and peptides to deliver visible results.

Is lelive cruelty-free and vegan?

Yes, the whole lelive skincare range is cruelty-free and vegan. It’s also reef-safe and pregnancy-safe.

Where to find lelive skincare in the UK?

You can order your lelive favourites via the brand’s own website for delivery within 3 working days.

lelive skincare unsponsored review

I got the opportunity to receive some of lelive’s best-sellers to try, but this review is not sponsored in any way, and I only recommend products I truly enjoy using myself.

Here are my honest thoughts on lelive products I’ve been testing out.

jelly splash: brighten + renew cleanser

This cleanser features a unique jelly texture that gently turns into a soft lather. It combines clarifying Salicylic and Lactic acids with brightening Niacinamide and Green rooibos tea, while Jojoba and Aloe guarantee that your skin will stay hydrated, never stripped off its natural oils.

I love the light, refreshing scent and the jelly texture which is unusual and really enjoyable to feel. After rinsing, my skin feels truly clean but never dry or tight, which is exactly what I want in a daily cleanser.

eye-conic: brighten + depuff eye cream

This lightweight eye cream is designed to brighten and reduce puffiness around the eyes. It combines niacinamide and bakuchiol to enhance skin tone and texture, while coffee arabica extract helps to reduce puffiness.

The inclusion of African mahogany extract and peptides supports collagen production and improves skin elasticity.

I really enjoy the lightweight texture; it gives me enough time to massage it into my under-eye area before it absorbs completely, which is a must when I need to combat puffiness after a short night sleep.

It doesn't leave a greasy feel and creates a smooth canvas to apply concealer.

the drip: hydrate + glow setting mist

This mist is a really nice way to refresh and hydrate the skin. It has soothing rose water and cucumber, brightening niacinamide and African malachite, plus antioxidants from deep sea biotics. Together, these ingredients help wake up the skin and give it a healthy glow.

I've never been particularly into mists before, and I must admit, I wouldn't have bought it myself. But I'm glad I had the opportunity to try it because I've been reaching for it more than I expected!

I love finishing up my skincare routine with a few spritzes, and during the warm Summer days, I've used it during the day to freshen up.

all the shade: SPF 30 sheer-tinted moisturiser

This tinted moisturiser gives your skin a subtle glow while hydrating and protecting it. With Marula oil and hyaluronic acid for moisture and mineral zinc oxide for sun protection, it blends easily and suits all skin tones without leaving any white cast.

I don’t usually wear much makeup, especially foundation, but I like products that enhance my natural complexion with a radiance boost. If you love the “no-makeup makeup” look, this is a top pick for you!

This moisturiser does just that — it gives a healthy, natural glow while protecting from the sun, making it a great all-in-one for busy days when you want to keep things simple but polished.

the glow kit mini edition

This travel-size kit has been the perfect travel companion for me, with a mini version of the cleanser, mist and tinted moisturiser that I love using and was able to take away with me.

This kit also includes 2 other products: the all glow'd up serum and crème de la cream moisturiser, giving you a complete skincare routine that is travel-friendly.
