Form Vegan Performance Vanilla Protein Review (Unsponsored)

I recently bought a pouch of Form Performance Protein in Vanilla flavour. If you’ve been thinking of trying this vegan protein, here’s everything you need to know about their Performance Protein blend plus my honest thoughts.

This product was bought with my own money and this review is not sponsored.

Additional ingredients

This protein blend goes beyond just protein. It also contains:

  • Digestive enzymes to improve digestion and prevent bloating

  • Natural sweeteners from Stevia leaf and Thaumatin fruit for a pleasant taste

Calories per serving

Each serving has between 145 and 154 calories depending on the flavour, with around 120 calories coming from protein.

Pricing

A 520g pouch (13 servings) costs £26 for a one-off purchase or £20.80 with a flexible subscription that you can cancel anytime.

My honest review of Form Performance Protein

Between resistance training and (a lot of) running, I’m very active and although I know that it’s important to refuel shortly after an intense workout, I sometimes struggle to find my appetite just after a speed session or a long run.

This is why I decided to introduce the post-workout protein shakes into my recovery habits.

When looking for a “clean” plant-based protein that would be optimal for muscle repair and easy to digest, I came across Form Performance Protein and decided to give the vanilla flavour a go. Here are my honest thoughts.

Taste and texture

The vanilla is smooth and naturally sweet, without being overpowering. There’s none of that artificial aftertaste you often get with other protein powders. In fact, I look forward to it after a workout.

The texture is silky, not gritty or chalky. I usually blend it with almond milk, frozen blueberries and chia seeds (which explains the little black dots in the photos). Even if you just shake it up with water, it still mixes better than most vegan proteins I’ve tried.

Does this vegan protein cause bloating?

I’ve had digestive issues with other protein powders before, sometimes even with half a serving. With Form, I can take a full serving with zero bloating or discomfort.

The added digestive enzymes seem to make a real difference.

Is it worth the price?

£26 for 13 servings isn’t cheap, but considering the quality, I think it’s worth every penny. I use it two to three times a week so a pouch lasts me over a month.

You’re getting a complete protein with BCAAs, clean ingredients and a formula that’s easy to digest. I’d rather pay a little more for something that tastes good and supports my recovery than settle for a cheaper blend full of fillers.

I will take advantage of the subscription option to make some savings and I might try different flavours, although I’m absolutely loving my vanilla shakes!

To sum it up, if you’ve been looking for a complete vegan protein that not only tastes fantastic but is also specifically formulated for muscle repair and is kind to your digestive system, I would highly recommend trying Form Performance Protein!
